The Dean Hale Woodpecker Festival has been cancelled for 2020.

A message from ECAS Board President, Tom Lawler:

"After consultation with the Dean Hale Woodpecker Festival Committee, the ECAS Board has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Woodpecker Festival. Unfortunately the Woodpecker Festival must take place during a specific time period, in early June, when activity is taking place for nesting and/or feeding young. We face too much uncertainty in the weeks ahead to have guides and participants invest time and money and have to cancel at the last minute. And, of course, we want everybody to be safe and healthy! This made canceling the festival most prudent. I encourage everybody to get outside and go birding, while practicing "social distancing" and not sharing optics!"

This year's eaglet, Aspen, fledged on June 13 but is still coming back to the nest occasionally.  The main camera is no longer on but there are video snippets and comments on the site. Thanks to Jim Hammond for recording these videos.
