Habitat and Birds

This site is a small pond with marsh habitat around it, next to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River, just below Hills Creek dam.  Walking the road into the pond is through conifer forest with some hardwoods mixed in.  This road is a good place to listen for Black-throated Gray and Hermit Warblers, but trying to locate them is a challenge given that they sing from the crowns of the large Douglas-fir trees.
