Go to the Oregon Birding Trails Website, the Cascades Birding Trail. Click on the Trail Guide and choose the Mt. McLoughlin Loop Guide. Section 160.
Rogue River-Siskiyou NF, High Cascades RD. From Prospect, 6.1 mi N on Hwy 62 to R on FR 60; 2.3 mi E to bridge over over creek, just past junction with FR 6050.

Riparian habitat in mixed conifer; nesting warblers including MacGillivray’s, and others, Western Tanager, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Thrushes. Huckleberry Campground (site 151) has good owl diversity with Flammulated and Long-eared nesting and others; FR 60, between bridge and Huckleberry Campground, watch for Blue and Ruffed Grouse and Mountain Quail.
