Location

About 22 miles south of La Grande on I-84, take the North Powder exit 285 and travel west on North Powder River Road (called River Lane on some maps). Go about 7.8 miles on North Powder River Road and look for a road to the right marked Tucker Flat Road. The reservoir is down this road about 2 miles.

Directions

Habitat and Birds

Lake with associated forest. Look for divers and dabblers like Bufflehead, Common and Barrow’s Goldeneye, Hooded Merganser, Mallard, Cinnamon Teal, and many others. Grebes and loons may stop over here in migration and geese can visit here as well. There is a Bald Eagle nest on the hill on the southeast side of the reservoir that can be scoped from the west parking area.
