Location
Location: From Hermiston, take Hwy 395 north a couple of miles through the community of Charleston and take a right (east) on Benzel Road (paved road). Go 0.25 mile to the parking area on left (north) and walk the trail.
Habitat and Birds
Habitat and Birds: This area recently burned so more information needs to be gathered about birding opportunities here. It had been a relatively large marshy area but has been drying out the past few years. Marshy conditions vary from year to year. Marsh species like Virginia Rail, Yellow-headed Blackbird, Marsh Wren. Tricolored Blackbird is possible, and American Bittern has been reported here.
