Habitat and Birds

As is typical of most Eastern Oregon towns, winter is the best time to find rare birds in Baker City. Check the various neighborhoods for fruiting trees and watch for wintering finches, warblers, sparrows, and Bohemian Waxwings. Vaux’s Swift are notable in the spring and spiral into local chimneys in the fall. Walk the trail mentioned above for migrant passerines and common nesters.
