Location

From Hwy 47 in Carlton travel west 16.8 miles to Battle Mountain Access Rd. Turn left and follow this paved road to a fairly high elevation lookout with a parking lot, picnic table, and toilet. At points along the road one may see all the Cascade peaks from Mt. Rainier to the Three Sisters. (The road may be snowed in during winter months). The clear-cut at the top is really growing in, but it’s probably the most accessible high elevation in the county. Expect some off-road vehicle activity in the area.
